Orb-X are percussion mallets for drummers. The lamb's wool tympani mallets tend to unravel and fray with aggressive playing.
Solid felt mallets are often too hard and heavy, making it difficult to articulate intricate patterns. An Orb-X mallet head weight less than a half gram, they come in 3 diameter sizes. 25 mm, 35 mm and 45mm. The smaller sizes compress more and have a softer sound. The larger sizes compress less and have more contact sound. They all sound great on drum set, congas and bongos. These are great for Orff instruments as well. Because they are so light weight, drummers can play rhythmic patterns on cymbals that were not practical with tympani mallets.
The Orb-X45W have a 45mm white mallet head on a black maple drum stick.
