Sputniks
Sputniks are part flat stick, part square, part bundled rod. The core is square shaped at the grip area extending to a round taper. Each side has a white HDPE slat and at each corner a 1/8″ black polypropylene rod. The rod has an ½ nylon sleeve that can be positioned on the rod. The ‘O’ rings can be used to flare out the HDPE slats or the polyrod corners. For example: the HDPE slats are flexible, by adjusting the small o ring along the wood core will change its flare size. This feature will produce different sounds and bounce. By moving the outer ring forward or backwards, it is possible to produce a very tight bundled rod sound or a very loose attack sounding like multiple drummers.
